Special Needs and learning support

All children are special at Edward Jenner School with their own learning needs, however we also have a ‘special needs’ inclusion policy. Specifically tailored educational programmes are offered that will stretch the more gifted child looking for Grammar School entry, support those for whom English is a Second Language and give the necessary extra support to children with learning challenges. As teachers we have had remarkable success with children with mild to medium spectrum Aspergers Syndrome, ADHD, depression, dyslexia, dyspraxia and behavioural challenges. We are able to offer Dyslexic Screening and ensure that children with Dyslexic tendencies have appropriate materials and support within their curriculum. Children who find the mainstream school environment a challenge will be appreciated and supported at Edward Jenner School so that they too can make learning happen.

The school offers extracurricular support in Maths / English and 11+ on site. These sessions are individually charged.
